im selling a old 4x4 and part of the deal is a posi rear from a 91 c1500 will it fit my 69 c10? has 3.42 gears and what are 3.42 gears good for ? sorry new to gear ratios

The mounts for the springs will be different and the rear end housing will be wider overall. You will have to weld on new spring pads. Also there won't be a mounting point for your panhard/track bar, and the shock mounts are different. Not sure about the emergency brake cables.
