Gap between hood braces and hood skin

Does anybody else have a huge gap between the hood braces and hood skin? The po had filled this entire area with expanding foam on my truck! I can push the skin down to touch the braces but then it creates a large valley in the hood. When the contour of the skin is correct I get these large gaps?

Re: Gap between hood braces and hood skin

There are foam pads that go between the braces and hood skin. Classicheartbeat sells a quality replacement set.

Re: Gap between hood braces and hood skin

Yep, what they said. The gap is factory. You just need the foam padding.

Re: Gap between hood braces and hood skin

i used urethane windshield adhesive and ran a bead between braces and skin. it really did the job .the hood sounds solid when i close it plus its just flexable enough so you cant see where the braces are on the outer skin. of course my gaps were not as big as yours are
