Cab dolly dimensions?

I'm getting ready to pull the cab off the frame and am wanting to make a dolly to mount it to and to roll it around on. I know some people have made them before, but was wondering if anyone has the dimensions of the cab mounts, so I can actually bolt the cab to my dolly? Open to any pointers on the construction of the dolly also. Thanks!

Re: Cab dolly dimensions?

Sorry I don't have any measurements but this is what I built for my '68 cab. It allows me to roll it around and to rotate it onto it's back, so I could strip the underside.

Re: Cab dolly dimensions?

Thanks for the ideas! I never thought about making it so you can roll it over on the backside...that's good thinking!

Sure made it easy to strip the bottom of the cab, prime and put Raptor liner on it.

Mike,
What size pipe did you use to make that rig? I am going to try to make myself one of these. Did you have to support the back of the cab when you leaned it back?

Thank you!

I used 1.5" .090 wall tubing I had laying around. I have a tubing bender for that OD so it was easy.

Nope, no support for the back. It was firmly bolted to the dolly via the factory body mounting points. I could roll it on it's back without any issues. It worked great.

Re: Cab dolly dimensions?

I took a pallet, stacked (3) 4x4 boards on top of it, then screwed 2 harbor freight furniture dollies to the bottom side of it.

I am loving Chevy Mikes set up
