Question Burb guys, needs some help with 67/68 trim..

Hey guys, I'm trying to help James at Mar-K gather some information about the lower trim on the 67/68 burbs. They are considering the possibility of making this available but they need a few questions answered. As most know, the trim from the front doors forward is the same as the trucks. What is needed is the measurement of the 3rd door trim and the measurement of the 2 pieces that extend back to the rear wheel opening trim pieces. Also, they will need one good piece (left or right), of the trim piece that goes between the rear wheel opening and the bumper. If you have any of these measurements or pieces, please post in this thread. Also, anyone interested in purchasing a set 67/68 burb trim post here also. They are trying to gauge the demand as well. Thanks for all your help and thanks to Mar-K to listening to their customers!

You'll probably have to build your own, at least from the rear doors back....

What about the possibility of the right side behind the door for my panel or does someone have one for sale? Thanks

That will be part of the kit when they start making these. In the meantime, you should be able to cut a truck piece down to fit...

Hey Rod
Dunno what I was thinkin. The part goes from the right door to the rear wheelwell. A truck part is too short but....(my bad) i guess that I just need two of the left burb sides !?!!!

John

Lemme check on those rear parts. Right back to ya

Lightbulb Re: Burb guys, needs some help with 67/68 trim..

I have a 68 Chevy C-10 Custom Suburban with all the trim necessary and live outside of Dallas. If I remember correctly Mar-K is in OKC. Are they still wanting to do this? I have a lot of friends with these older burbs who would be interested. Most have just made their own from truck trim or closed up the holes and gone without.

The truck is in great shape but the trim is not pristine. That said its all there. Attached is a photo before I stuck it in storage. Let me know if I can help, I'd be happy to help get a manufacture going on this and with Mar-K around the bend it wouldn't even be difficult to get it up to them.

Sweet looking Burb! How about some more pictures? . Thanks for the offer, I'm sure they will take you it up on it. The main piece they need is the rear piece to ensure that the bends are correct. All of the other pieces are similar to the truck. I talked to James last week and he said they were swamped right now but will try to get back on this project after the first of the year. You can get in touch with him via PM or call Mar-K and ask for him.

Re: Burb guys, needs some help with 67/68 trim..

I'd be happy to give you the lowdown on the burb and post the pictures I've taken but I'm guessing I should probably post it elsewhere on the forum? Anybody want to let me know where? I'm new to this.

Anyhow.. Its a pretty origional truck. Only a hair over 67k origonal mils but unfortunately most of that was hauling farm wagons in NMso it hasn't been babied per say.
