chevy 250 L6 oil pressure port

Is the oil pressure sender port on the back of the head? And is it 1/8" pipe thread?

That is the only port for mechanical/any oil pressure I can find. Thread does not play well with a 1/8" pipe fitting.

This 250 is from a base 68 Camaro, automatic, with probably just dummy lights.

thanks

No.
Port is above dipstick tube on bottom edge of the side cover.

Not sure what you found.
Got a pic?

Geezer, it is exactly where you said it was. I put a brass pipe plug in it and it got painted orange with the engine. I will take 2 pics tomorrow of a couple odd things to me. Both on head. I believe both are perhaps for something this engine did not have.

thanks

One in back and one on driver front. Maybe for smog equip or lift points?

Must be something like that.

Front one could be for power steering bracket to bolt to.
