Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

I took last week off work to remove some rocker rust and a couple other odds & ends. The angle grinder & I have seen enough of each other for a while now.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

A little cleaning, topped off the fluids, adjusted the fan relay, and charged the A/C with a few ounces of refrigerant. I'm ready to ride!!!

Replacing my wood floor with sheet metal

If "what I did to my Suburban" includes dropping it off with a local hot rod builder/fabricator to replace my rear wood floor. This fab work is outside of my skill/time level so was better left to expert Brent Jackson http://www.brentjacksonscustoms.com/index.html who just happens to live a few miles from my house. Old wood floor had run its course so rather than replace with wood decided to replace with 12 awg sheet metal.

Replacing wood floor with sheet metal (more pics)

After cutting out the old wood, had to blast and frame to make up for the gap between 3/4 plywood and 12 awg steel. He's going to weld up all the seams and coat the entire back section with Lizard Skin. Should quiet up the inside and add some good stability to the rig when done.

Do you have the exact pn for the strut that fits?

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Brought Franks 72 home from the paint shop. We choose to do the interior first then assemble (hang doors etc) to avoid over spray. Dads old truck was never this shinny !

Rear Floor installed and Lizard Skinned

Metal floor is done and coated with POR15 and lizard skin. Finally solid enough to mount up the new shoulder harness seat-belts from Juliano's. Feels a little safer with the kids rolling down the highway.

Love that color combo, especially with the patina, cool white steelies, hubcaps, and roof rack...coolness.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Discovered another flat on my '69. Just replaced the left rear tire which kept going flat, and now this one goes flat...

As for the other two, grass has started growing around them

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Finished rebuilding the SM465 and started working on the NP205.

I find it VERY difficult to get things done during babys nap time! Only an hour or so a day with no loud noises makes it slow going.
