Is the 6-banger going back in?
Also,... what are you doing for the rear suspension?

Did Nate make the Dropmember any different so that you could use the 6 cylinder? (Is it a one-off design?)

Thumbs up Re: 1966 Chevy SWB Gasser influenced truck

Like the Gasser Idea!
Old School/Nostalgia!

Roadsters, Gassers, Altereds, Top Fuel, Funny Cars, Pro/Stocks, and even the modern age of nostalgia drag racing.
One of drag racings very popular classes formed was the Gassers. During the `50s, Model A and 1932-`34 Fords were considered the hot set-up for these gas classes. Using Ford V-8 "flatheads" and later overhead valve engines, Gas Coupe and Sedan classes had to maintain stock wheelbases and the engine relocation was limited. By the mid-60s, it was rare to find an upper classed gasser with any other body make than Willys, Studebaker, Austin or Anglia. They were the stoutest full-bodied cars on strips nationwide. Touring teams ran four to six times every week, often traveling several hundred miles day and night to make their next dates. This was old school racing! They were Bad to the Bone, before the fliptop funny cars took over in popularity. The battles in A/GS (later AA/GS) ranks created many heroes and villains who etched their marks into drag racing history. Gassers shared with fans of the quarter mile one the most thrilling overall racecar types, and for an era that was all too short, they were literally the Kings of the Sport.

Whatever it's called, it looks badass. Loving the buildup on this.

Dude, that Falcon wagon looks great and I'm neither a Ford nor a wagon guy.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: 1966 Chevy SWB Gasser influenced truck

I'm neither a Ford or Chevy guy, or Dodge, for that matter. I just dig cars and trucks.

That said, I'm partial to wagons, panels, sedan deliveries, big trucks, COEs, LWBs--anything funky and off the beaten track, or generally neglected by the rodding public. Probably the last truck I'd look for in a build-up would be a SWB, but I'm really starting to come around.

Great rides! I love the stance.

I like the stance now, but with the back lower it will be even better! Good job, it would look great cruising down the road with no hood and the springs sticking up

Re: 1966 Chevy SWB Gasser influenced truck

What size front wheels/tires (just want to verfiy the sizes haven't changed since earlier in the thread)?
How much clearance between the top of the tire & the inner fenderwell @ ride height?
