Bad master cylinder

So I finaly got my brake line off , bent up a new one , buttoned up all the lines, modified my push rod (used parts off of my old clutch master rod) Installed the new rebuilt master cylinder ( bench bleed) and bled all four cornners.
My bro was to keep an eye on the resevoir making sure it wouldn't go dry, well I guess he thought I said " make sure your beer dosn't go dry" cuse sure as snot, the master goes dry while he was replenishing his cold one.
Try as I might I couldn't get the master to bleed right, so I took it off.
While bench bleeding I noticed that the rear port was not pushing the fluid . I removed the bleeder addaptors ,pushed the piston in , the front port shots out a stream of fluid , the rear port driped at best.
I bought the master 3 years ago, and lost the reciept , so went to autozone picked up a rebuilt for $16.95. But I cant work on it till this weekend, so my "quick" swap has turned into a 2 week project

Ok so I got a new reman master, bench bled it for days( no air) installed , bled the system.. No leaks but the pedal is a bit on the soft side, and it travles quie a bit before it stops. I don't think this is right. So can anyone give me some tips?

I would bleed all 4 corners some more.

I bled it with one of thse one man bleeder kits. I will do it the old school way and see what happens thanks

You can always try gravity bleeding it, if your trying to do it alone.

Make sure your shoes are adjusted if your still using drum brakes. It will make the pedal feel soft if their out of adjustment.

had the same issue. Got mine from autozone as well. The rear just seemed not to pump as well as the front. Finally found the shoes on the front were adjusted in too far and that affected the pedal big time. As soon as i got that adjusted in, pedal got better instantly. Mine is a 60 and the M/C i got from autozone was for a 67. Used an adapter plate from the good captain and the brake rod from the clutch side of old stock master cyl. The old brake rod was too short. Brakes work pretty well now. Tried to delete the next two blank posts, but had a misfire of some kind. Sorry.

I tried to bribe my daughter to help but found it to be cheaper to build a pressure bleeder out of a cheap home depot hudson sprayer and some air compressor fittings. Not that I have to bleed my brakes all the time, but when I was figuring them out, it seemed that I had to do it quite a few times until they were right. I needed to unstall some residual pressure valves from Wilwood because it turned out that the mc was a disc/disc type.

bleed the system found that the front brakes were out of adjustment they spun freely.I adusted them , made sure the pushrod was adjusted too . It stops,but still feels like the pedal is too low.

DONE!! After further adjusting of the push rod I now have good pedal . Oh and it stops fine .

Did you keep your clutch hydraulic, I mean did you get the Capt.'s kit for maunal 60-62?
