Front Steering/Bumpstop removal?
I'm in the process of putting bags on my 72' and I have the front A-arms off and I need to remove the Bump/Steering stops off them. Whats the easiest way to go about this? Also how much drop can I expect from bags without drop spindles or a notch as say compared to stock ride height?

to remove the bump stops just drill or grind on the rivets and smack them with a bfh, they will fly off, as far as drop goes, i think with the bags inflated it will be about 3 inches lower, about 6-7 inches lower with the bags empty.

Hmmm.... mine were spot welded on. Just drill out the spot welds, but not all the way through. Then pop them off with a hammer.

How many spot welds are there? Theres a ton of crap built up on my a-arms, was having trouble finding them all lol. I took grinder to the ones I found and slapped it around with a bfh and it wasn't moving. I'll have to try and beat on them again tonite.

I cut mine off with a torch(the spot welded part is still on the a arm). I left the portion for the steer stop, & reinforced it on the back side with some flat strap......the steer stop does bottom on the crossmember from time to time over potholes tho.... crazyL

I messed with them tonite and still couldn't get them off. Tomorrow I'm taking them to the shop and I'm going to have a friend torch them off and make the hard work easy
