How do I remove this dash pad ?

My V/A kit has arrived for my 85. Instructions say to remove the dash pad but, doesn't show how. I've never been into it before so I'm a little hesitant to start yanking on it and breaking tabs, clips, etc. Doing this in my driveway and it's hotter than hell......in the evenings so not wanting to reverse engineer the process.
I appreciate the help!

Please be a bit more mellow on the comments.

Many have never had to do this job and asking here is what our community is about.

I doubt anyone is born with the knowledge of how to remove an early chevy dash pad. That's what this forum is for. Also no reason for you to catch grief for not knowing. If it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't have known how to do that very same job earlier this year.

Good luck!

Re: How do I remove this dash pad ?

I agree, no reason to give someone grief, just because they don't know how to take a dash pad off. That's what this forum is for.
About 5 yrs ago, when I started taking apart my interior, this forum was a great help. And another great source, is YouTube. I do better with actually seeing something done, rather than reading. There are a ton of how to videos just for our trucks.

No need at all for apologies. I am sure all of us have been there before. I know I have and will probably be there again in other repairs that I have never done or seen done. We are not born with all the knowledge we may ever need. The forum is here to help.

BTW - If you're replacing it, take a look at the Cheyenne replacement pads. Top notch!

http://www.cheyennepickup.com/

Thought has occurred to me more than once to take out my OEM pad and use a cheyenne pickup parts one so I don't have to worry about cracking.
