service engine light

my service engine light came on today. I installed my code reader and it did not turn on like normal.so I tried it on my other truck and it worked, so the reader works. Where should I start.2006 gmc 1500 truck, thanks in advance

Blown Cigar lighter fuse in the underhood fuse panel.
