I seen that lmc has a rebuild bushing kit but i dont want to spend what they are asking. Is there any other vendors that sell a poly urethane bushing kit for and 82 gmc 2wd long bed?

I wouldn't buy from lmc for that stuff anyway I did and wasn't happy with any of there suspension parts. Have you looked at moog bushings, they should make them.

go to a decent speed shop they will sell you a quality kit cheaper than LMC

I was told to check out moog bushings. Do they have a home website?

Old rusty: Most of the shops that I have checked into say they order there stuff threw lmc.

Have you checked your local parts house. Sometimes they'll carry Energy Suspension Bushings and such. You just have to ask. You'd be surprised at what the local guys carry and or can get.

Recommend Moog stuff as well. Most auto parts stores should have them or could order them in.

If you know/find out the part numbers....amazon could work too.

You only want to do the front end once...get decent parts!

Rockauto also has complete Dorman repro lower and upper control arms complete with ball joints, shafts bushings etc. Less shipping it'll set you back around $800.

Yes sir along with wheel bearings and tie rod ends and ball joints. Any other suggestions as to what I should replace?

Pro performance has your bushing at a great price and you can get the rest like tie rods and ball joints at AutoZone or orielys

i installed a pst kit on my 73 duster a few years back and it came with everthing but the wheel bearings... the kit made a huge differance in the handling of the car i would recomend this kit to anyoneif your truck dont have a sway bar ide recomend picking up on from a unk yard off a 3/4 or 1 ton truck that will make a huge differance in how the truck drives

If you go with moog just make sure you get the problem solver or "HD" line of their stuff. They got bought out by crappa (whoops i mean Napa) and their quality has gone way downhill UNLESS you get the problem solver or HD. A lot of people overlook, but brands like ACdelco and motorcraft have to be up the the manufacturers standards. Which is of course, lasting around 100k miles. Or more sometimes. Cause its what you'll find on a new vehicle that they have to warranty. A lot of those off brand ones will go 5 or 10K and need to be replaced again. Junk.

Yeah I have heard of this happening and was a buddy of mine he stated that the lower control arm bushing just disappeared one day and the truck started doing some weird handling. Any idea what one of those pst kits run. I have heard that they have great quality stuff.

Is this mainly with the 2wd versions or IFS versions......or does it also apply to some of the older, K5 4wd trucks? I used the Moogs in the upper and lower positions on my 89' K5.

Not real sure. Id assume it was just anything after the Napa buyout. Got a few friends in the wheel and tire biz that say stay away from moog nowadays. Except for th hd/problem solver line.
