scored another one!

Ever since I sold my '84 crewcab, I have regretted it. So lately I have been looking for another and came across this today. It's a '79 Silverado 30. I got it for $800! It was originally two tone blue, but someone painted it white...oh well, I like it!
Does anyone know what smog equipment it should have? Thanks
-Lance

I love that! If you can't get it to pass smog, you can just donate it to my driveway. I don't have emissions and will take plenty good care of it.

Re: scored another one!

Heck of a deal, that's a real clean straight truck! If it has a 10,000 pound GVW it falls under the HD class Federal emissions, all that is required is the AIR system with a smog pump, no cats. I could be wrong as I don't live in CA though. It looks like the system is all there, can't see if the smog pump is or not.

Re: scored another one!

Thanks for the compliments, I like it.
right now my plans are to clean it up and change all fluids. Then I would like to eventually lower it a few inches and repaint. It has Doug Thorley headers w/A.I.R. tubes and the smog pump is there. I didnt think it would have cats as my '84 didnt.

Re: scored another one!

Nice re-start .....

Now I recently bought a 87 crew from cally & shipped in back my way ..... it HAD all the smog stuff & the cats. It came out of Lake Elsinore if that mattered.

I, of course, intend on replacing all of the exhaust with a much better breathing NON cat/smog set up.

I'll be removing these items should someone in Cally need them .....
