Mild Lowering on a 2001 Tahoe 4x4

I just got an 01 Tahoe and I would like to put some factory 20's on it and lower it with a 2/4 or maybe a 3/5 drop. I think 2/4 might be better. It's my wifes ride so it has to be done right for a daily.

What are some kits that would be recommend? Any feedback from personal experience?

TIA

This has come up a time or two. See this thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ring+tahoe+4x4
Also search lower or drop 4 wheel drives.
There are dropped spindles available, shackle/hanger kits for the rear.

I lowered a 2002 2wd Tahoe, but i think the suspensions are the same. both trucks have torsion bars up front and a factory 2link style setup. I put aftermarket 20's w factory sized tires. the drop i choose was 3/3 and after a week i knew i should went 3/5...no clearance issues up front and rode great.

That looks really good... did you use a kit?

i did use a kit from eibach. it came with new keys upfront and springs out back. the 3/5 kits require shorter shocks, i think.

How's the ride after? I'm looking at an 04 4x4 Tahoe and want a lowered stance on it and am starting to look into how to get it done.

gary...to me it rode the same after. it wasn't really noticeable. i felt some difference changing the wheels/tires, but not much. i actually sold the tahoe to my brother and he's put another 35-40k on the truck since. it drives as nice as my wife's 2000 suburban (nbs, 4x4) on factory wheels/tires.
