intermittent no power anywhere

I drove the truck yesterday, stopped and started several times, no issue whatsoever. Today, no power to anything. Battery has 12.4 volts. From there I checked power from the battery to the starter, and the same 12.4 volts show there. That's as far as I've gone diagnosing anything. What's next to check? No power in accesory mode, no lights, no nothing when you put the key in and turn it.

Re: intermittent no power anywhere

The low current side is powered by the small wire in the + side of the battery to the junction block on the fender, and then through the harness over the radiator to the junction block on the firewall. Time to start measuring voltage in that direction.

Re: intermittent no power anywhere

Thanks Franken, I'll start there this weekend when I get a chance to get back to it.

Re: intermittent no power anywhere

My first suspect on a total no power is the battery terminals. Sometimes the corrosion will allow a minimal current to flow but fail at anything more.

2nd is a sudden battery fail.

Check voltage lights off. Then turn on and see if voltage goes to 0.

Re: intermittent no power anywhere

Looks like it was the junction on the passenger fender from the battery positive. I took the connectors off the post and they were rusty. I cleaned the rust off and it fired right up, about 20 times. Thanks for the help everyone!
