guide plates

Are they required on vortec heads, bought them from GMPP but did not include guide plates

If you are running the self-aligning rockers, then no you do not need or want guide plates. If you are running the standard early rockers, you might want to consider guide plates.

It looks like the locks are upside down. The hex goes up so you can hold it with a wrench and tighten the set screw.

Thats why I hang out with you guys, you've got all the right answers... will I loose my adjustment when I rotate the nut, seems so EOIC?
