Made a few changes to the truck
I know I'm heading in a different direction than most of you guys, but I did a little work to the blazer over the weekend.
Oh & for anyone who remembers my last few posts about the truck, I got it all back together & running. Here's what I did over the weekend: Painted the roll cage, POR-15'd the floor board, & ........well, you'll see.   I did make the mistake of painting the wheel tubs black & they look pretty weird against the yellow sides. In a few weeks, I will probably strip all the paint & redo the bed & wheel tubs in yellow. Black is too hot anyway. |

a also agree the no top no doors look is cool, and also fun, i had a landcruiser a couple summers ago and loved it with no doors, so much fun when cruisin

I have owned my 75 K5 for 4 years and except for when I was replacing the floor I never had the doors off till weekend before last. It's great! I feel like the truck is lower (It's 7ft to the top of the roof). Did you get that same feeling?
I also pinned mine so I can pull them in about 2 minutes. I replaced the hinge pins with a 5/16x5 inch bolt. That way they don't have to be realigned.

I would say there are good & bad points to not having doors. It gets hard to carry anything at all in the truck, but everything else about it is sweet. Walk up, grab the roll cage, & hop in.
At first, I wasn't totally sold on the idea so I left the hinges attached to the body & just zip tied them to keep them from flapping. I'm a little scared to take them off cause it will probably be a pain to realign the doors. But it looks ghetto with the hinges still attached & zip tied. |
