Tell me how I did on this one

Bought this 82 gmc sierra 4wd from the original owners. Has a flat bed on it from pretty much new, 3/4 ton springs in the rear, was originally a diesel 6.2 but he said after they rebuilt it twice in less than 150,000 they put a 350 in it. No rust on the cab anywhere, fenders have some rust slight rust. They just put new warn lock out hubs on it and had the transmission rebuilt (documentation given). Its currently not running because a rubber fuel line split under the hood and caught the driver side of the engine on fire and melted the distributor cap and plug wires. They put it out quickly, but it will need a tune up, distributor, etc. But I bought it for 400 bucks..only my second square body, so how do you guys think i did on it? go ahead and be honest haha, I could always part it out so i didn't think id get hurt on it for the money.

I thought the same thing, about it being a parts truck. There is someone who has been looking for a grille like that.

Can’t get hurt on that purchase, get it running, should be fairly straight forward and not much money.

Re: Tell me how I did on this one

You did well. I bought a rusted out k20 with no motor or trans for $300 a year ago. It took a lot of labor, but i took it all apart - the sheetmetal was all junk and was scrapped. I think in the end i sold all the parts for about $600 total. Steering column is pretty valuable I found, and so is the instrument cluster.
