Re: Crazy Money

the hype on that auction was bananas. I didnt go but everyone who has contacted me for parts since wants to know if I went. a couple local sellers bought some parts, its interesting to see their asking price.

Re: Crazy Money

That's nuts but when you get several fools with disposable money in a bidding war that happen. It will probably show up with a CLR job and shiny clear coat at a rod trot in the spring.

Re: Crazy Money

I was at a Vanderbrink auction several years ago, same thing, too many fools with too much money.

Re: Crazy Money

I wonder how the buyer is going to react after he has the truck appraised and it appraises out well under 10K.

I had a friend who bought a 62 Ranchero at an auction a few years ago who I still thing got in a bidding war with one of the auctioneer's shill bidders. I had looked at it earlier in the day and thought it was maybe a 300 buck truck at the time and they ran her up to 700 on it. I had left the auction and didn't know she planned to bid on it or would have stayed and told her to stop bidding at 350/400.

I quit going to that outfits auctions as you got to where you could spot the shills that worked with the auctioneer to run the bidding up.
