Lower column mount

Now that my cab is back in place and hopefully not going to move again I started playing with column and pedal placement. I had to move my brake assembly over and up a tad and I need to figure put how to mount the column. I've been looking for pictures and ideas, I'm thinking of having the cover put on the engine side of the firewall and using an inside mount. I don't have much room for a mount on the engine side, it's pretty tight between engine and firewall.

So... 1950 3100. 1970 column. I got the cover, rusty piece, from an 84 c10. I also took the brake pedal assembly, gas pedal and e brake from the 84 too. I cut a hole in the firewall similar to the c10s for the column to fit through. I need to mount the lower part of the column and cover the hole I think the piece I got should work with a gasket though.

What have you guys done? Any suggestions or ideas?
