Dynabrade 18160 grinder
Anybody use and have any thoughts on the quality of the Dynabrade 7 degree .5 hp die grinder model 18160? i am in the market for an angle die grinder so I can clean up my welds and such for my body work on my 65c10.

Re: Dynabrade 18160 grinder
That thing looks OP! Never used one, I use a regular size & mini grinder (one's Snap On, other's Blue Point) I've used low end stuff too, had a $15.00 harbor freight one for years. I use 3" Rolocs on the big one, 2" on the mini. I start with 36 grit 3M Rolocs to knock it down, then go to a 50 grit. Finish with 80 grit on a 6" DA. Never had an issue with not having enough power to get the job done, I'm feathering the throttle 1/2 the time.
Best pic I have: (repairing worn out core support mount) |

Re: Dynabrade 18160 grinder
I have mostly experience with snap-on, bluepoint, mac, etc. but I'm sure many other brands perform to their price point..
I have seen the larger hp grinder motors for tire buffers, and body sanders, etc. but never used them in that application.. I will caution you that these types tools use a lot of air and may not be feasible in a home shop/garage.. I have a modest size compressor in the garage that works great for impacts and air ratchets for short bursts of work.. but extended use of die grinders and angle grinders/sanders runs the compressor constantly.. so you may want to consider the amount of work you're looking to get out of the tool and size the air motor accordingly.. good luck! pile of air motors that each have different tools in them so I don't have to change often that bluepoint cutoff is a 1/2 hp at 25 cfm some of the assorted air tools I still use in my home garage..
