Help: Setting Up TCase Shift Linkage

I finished building my custom single stick shift linkage for Divorced 205. Its still difficult to shift and its having a hard time with getting the 4wd rail positioned correctly. I'll post some pics in a little bit. Until then does anyone have advice, other than twin sticking it?

Re: Help: Setting Up TCase Shift Linkage

on top of the case there are two 3/4 inch headed bolts. those are the detent springs and balls that put pressure on the rail directly. unscrew those and place a washer under them and put them back. no need to pull the springs out or anything.
the washer under there will relieve some of the spring pressure and make it slide easier.

or you can pull the spring and shave off a tiny bit if the washer is too much and its "sloppy"

also use a ratchet only by hand. the can shear very easily.

Re: Help: Setting Up TCase Shift Linkage

I've got to figure mine out too. I was thinking of a single. Cable shifter so that I could mount it a little different than stock but haven't seen a set up that I like for under 300+. I'd really like to see how you did yours. I can never get mine out of 4wd. It goes in just fine though

Re: Help: Setting Up TCase Shift Linkage

I didnt want to twin stick my 205 but I needed a cable shifter becasue I want to move it to a custom console. I talked to NWFab and they said that the amount of pressure needed to shift the xfer was too great for a single cable setup. The have some fancy adjustbale detent nuts (simialr as described above with using a washer to space it) and to take enough pressure off to be able to run one cable will leave the xfer to pop out of gear... Catch 22....
