Anybody know where to buy cloth seat covers for bench seats?ers

Not the full replacement covers, but the universal ones you used to see at the local parts stores. Example; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009W85OUC...ustomerReviews

Typical Review; "I used the original USA made version of this cover for over 20 years. It wore like it was made of iron. It was time to replace it after daily use for over 20 years.. I bought this one thinking it was the same. It is not! It was advertised as made in USA. I found a small tag that says made in China. This China made seat cover lasted about one month before the corner was shredded."

I realize that most everything is cheap disposable junk from overseas these days, but I just need a 1/2-way decent cover to throw over my bench.
Any experience with recent purchases?
Thanks, Brian

Go to a Auto Upholstery shop near you, they can help.

Not cheap is right! But thanks for the link, I've got to do something.

I guess I could just throw a blanket over it. The cover I have lasted 20 years in a work-truck and it was like $20, $30 max. -BA

I dunno, these seem reasonable haha! http://www.seatcoversunlimited.com/L...iAAEgLDDPD_BwE

I agree with you though, why cant we find a decent seat cover for a decent price that will hold up?

Re: Anybody know where to buy cloth seat covers for bench seats?ers

I went with a Seat Covers Unlimited cover for my bench seat. Been there about a month, looks good. We'll see how it holds up in time. I figure for $40, if it lasts 2 years, I'll be happy. I wish there was something a little more quality that was around $100-$150.

It seems to be the way the markets are going with so many things. You can get the cheap parts, which are somewhere between junk and a gamble, or you can spend 5x+ for the known good parts. Nowhere in between. Same thing with 'post' style radios. $20 junk, or $150+ nice radios.

OK, I finally broke down and bought the one at AutoZone. If you have a nice truck, this thread is not meant for your eyes. Please do not look at these before and after pictures. This is a work truck.

I remember when we use to get those back in the day and they were tough, lasted for ever and had a slot to slide your shotgun in on the bottom front. The last one I got was cheap junk didn't last no time.
How about letting us know how yours hold up if you don't mind.

Are you running on our bench models? I did my seat in Naugahyde and it makes my back sweaty in the summer. I've been looking for a nice cover. I checked out the Scottsdale and am seriously considering. Just wondering if you have one over a vinyl seat and if it's cooler to sit on. And if on our model bench, does it fit nice. I did not think the price was too bad for a custom fit, I plugged in and it came out $205

Re: Anybody know where to buy cloth seat covers for bench seats?ers

I went for cloth, to me it is much cooler than vinyl. If you want to go for custom fit, your local auto uphostery shop should be able to get the material and get it done. In my case, I wanted panels small houndstooth in brown surrounded by vinyl in a matching color, to make it look like something that would have been offered stock in the late 60's or early 70's. I think the going rate for something like that is about $350 plus $150 for installation for a total of about $500. You have to go visit several auto upholstery shops and talk with them to get a sense of what they can do, see some samples of their work, check yelp, and weed out the shops that over charge. The first shop I went to, when the guy went out into the parking lot with me to have a look at my truck, he said "aw, sh&*, I hate to work on those" as we were walking up to my truck, and he wanted $2200. I drove off. After shopping around a little I found a good shop for reasonable price.

I put one of those covers on my seat and can't keep the dang thing on there! The top falls off, the bottom slides up - it's a pain in the butt! I've thought about getting some bungees and hooking them through the top of the cover and attaching them somehow to the bottom of the seat to (hopefully) help, but who knows if that will work.

The only reason I haven't taken it off yet, is because I have my sons car seat on the passenger side, and I'm too lazy to pull his seat out to take the cover off.

Re: Anybody know where to buy cloth seat covers for bench seats?ers

When I put mine on, I pulled the seat out. I attached as many lines as I could around the perimeter. I know my seat belts are short, so I need the seat cover to fit perfect. I have lines going from the back frame, through the buckle holes, and out to the back frame again to keep the cover lined up tight at the back. I used adjustable knots everywhere so I could adjust the tension to make it fit right. Overall, PITA, but the results seem good so far.

Yeah, I believe this is the ticket.

Eagle Chief, do this ^^^. I added 2 or three extra lines but I'm far from done as the top is still sliding and the corners are lose still. Some sort of little bungee type cords might work or just adjustable knots as above. -BA

Yea, I messed with mine a little bit this past weekend. I added some small/short bungee cords and just ran the hook through the material, then hooked the other end to the seat frame/springs. I added 3 across the top/back of the seat, and 2 along the bottom corners. This helped quite a bit. I'll see how it holds up over time. I've been in and out to the seat about a dozen times over the weekend and yesterday, and so far, it's held the cover in place. Thanks guys!

Re: Anybody know where to buy cloth seat covers for bench seats?ers

After seeing this thread, I didnt want to start a new one.

Anyone know where this seat cover came from?

I ran up on it surfing truck pictures and liked it, so I saved a picture.

Re: Anybody know where to buy cloth seat covers for bench seats?ers

I went with a custom cover kit from Raybuck and I like it. I went with the grey tweed and the turquoise vinyl and it matched the blue interior door panels perfect. It was a nice cover with some foam stitched into the cover which helps it lay smooth. Good for the money I thought.

Thanks for the lead Aggiegrad! It looks like they have some nice options and from the pictures the quality looks nice. I’d say 250. is a fair price also.

Is the orange truck a few posts up yours? Would you say the seat cover held up well?
