I found a picture of my old '67

I didn't think I had any pictures of this '67 I had many years ago. I bought it in '78 and drove it for 6 or 8 years then made it into a Trazer and drove it for another 6 or 8. This was at a drilling rig we worked on one time, that's my old friend Jeff in the foreground. Probably summer of '79 or so:

I got my '68 from my grandpa, I think he got it back in the 80's maybe 70's, it'd be neat if he had some pics of it in action back in the day, cool pic btw.

We all had hair sticking out of our hats back then, huh?(I see your shadow )
That`s cool to have found that.I hear how great digital pics are,but unless you make prints there won`t be any snap shots laying around to discover in the future.Just an external drive,cd,or still on an old antique computer.

I think that's a stain on a 30 year old snap shot. Yeah, I found a little box of pictures that I'd forgot about. Those were the funnest times back then, working on those rigs. They paid really well, and there were way more jobs than there were hands to fill them. You old roughnecks will remember this-looks like we just got done tripping out, all the drill pipe is standing in the derrick, along with the drill collars, with the bottomhole assy. still in the elevators. It's just past dawn, judging from the shadows. It's summertime, but this rig was up near Bear Lake, on Utah's border with Idaho, and even in the summer it's cold at night. I guess that's why Jeff, who was the derrick hand, still has on his winter derrick hat instead of a hardhat. Hardhats were discouraged on the board, in case they fell off they might injure a floorhand. I'm guessing we just got out of the hole (to change bits or something) and our driller gave us a little break. Either that or we're just goofing off.

I still have some of that truck-it's my truck-bed trailer

I'm sure it wasn't the original engine, but it had a good running 350 and a 3 on the tree, that was all wore out-the linkages-and it would hang up between the gears like they all do if you wasn't paying attention to your shifts. The night I met my wife, maybe a year and a half or so after that picture, I was at a Holloween party at this bar and I was drunk, drunk, drunk. I met this blonde and she was only drunk, and needed a ride home. I said "No problem, but you gotta drive there 'cause I can't" She said "No problem" and drove the 15 miles or so to my place (I swear I don't know how that happened) and NEVER MISSED A SHIFT! I knew right then and there that she was a keeper. That and the fact that she never did leave
