Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project

I say he'd like to spend 3,500 at most. That's how much he's looking to sell the Vette for. And he would like a project/driver

Well.. My dad decided to keep his Corvette and put the 350 in it. Good news is I get the block that's coming out of the Vette!

Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project

Got a TON done this weekend. With the help of my dad I got in my bucket seats, and built a center console which houses my 6x9's. And we cleaned the garage! The console is a little rough but hopefully soon we'll fiberglass it and paint it. On to the pictures!

And a little advice for someone who is planning on building a center console. 15/32" ply is not thick enough! The sheet warped bad and made it hard to make it straight. Alot of wood puddy was used

Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project

What we have always used for cup holders in the console we have made was 4" subwoofer speaer box air port tubes because they have the rolled edges that lets them sit flush agaist the console.

Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project

Nice rig... I almost bought something simular back in my teen years... But the rents said I had too many cars.. I didnt think 5 was too many (72 nova, 70 Caprice, 69 camaro, 75 camaro, and a 76 blazer)

If you go 2-tone... remeber the lighter of the 2 goes to the bottom... specially if your "Slammin" it.. shows it better IMO...

Nice to see a father & Son projects! Me and mine race a A-Mod together.

Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project

Thats a cool truck you have coming togeather, im in the process of building an 85. Gonna do a custom console in it as well. this is the look im going for with mine.

I also want to build a matching overhead console.

It sounds like you have some big plans for the truck, I think it would look damn good in the orange you are looking at. Expecially with a couple of well placed flat black pin stripes,
