Is my way of thinking correct

I have a 72 c10 with a flip kit on rear. 2 1/2 drop spindles and 2” lowering big block springs. I do not want to drop the rear anymore I would prefer to raise the front some. My question is I measured the lip of the rear fender to center of rear center cap and it measured 16 1/2 I than measured lower lip of front fender to center of front center cap and it measured 15 1/4 am I corrrect in thinking if I switched to a 1” longer front spring that it it would be approx 1/4 lower in front . Thanks

a 1" longer spring in front will raise the truck ...not make it lower....

Re: Is my way of thinking correct

That is my intention. I want the truck to sit more level with less rake.

Yes, your thinking is correct. you would have a 1/4" rake from front to rear. It looks like your bed is sloping downwards toward the front of the truck (more that what your suspension rake is) - You might have to add/take away shims on the bed mounts to get it in line with the cab, that will help even out the 'rake' that you're looking for.

Bosshogg thanks bringing the bed alignment to my attention. I just put the box back on with 4 bolts and used a rubber for a cushion between the frame and bed I’m going to take a look at this before I start swapping springs.

I had the same issue - the rear of my bed was kicked up when I used the little square rubber isolators, so I ended up using them in the front mounts near the cab and taking them out of the mounts towards the rear of the truck and it evened things out.

Don't forget to post the before & after pics if you order new springs!
