supercharger or turbo

well i have an 01 z71 and for some reason mustangs like to pick on me. why i dont know i usualy anser with ok lets. go over here to this parkinglot and i have a chain. and we can hook them up an see what happens. or ill say ok lets go to the lake to the mudholes. they say its pointless an i say well its pointless a pick up racing a stang.

i guess they just hate chevys i dunno

anyway whould an 01 z71 156k miles still runs like a top. whould it be wise to add a turbo or supercharger to this 5.3liter. or what whould be some small wise performance ideas ?

Re: supercharger or turbo

GMPP has a supercharger kit for the truck.. I go with that. The turbo will be more involved to install.

I hate Mustang drivers. I love when they want to mess with me in my Talon, and I spin all 4 tires, that shuts then up quick.

well, there goes more budget for boost, since most cold air-intakes are not compatible with boost set-ups without at least some custom fab work.

No, what I'm saying is if you want boost, go for boost! Unless somehow you have $250+ dollars that are just disposable right now for an expensive air-intake tube and filter, and that money will simply regrow later when you actually want to put on a supercharger/turbo.

A CAI alone is NOT going to help you at all against any sort of threat from a sports car or even most passenger cars.

hahaha, gimme a break! "just because my dreams can't be broughtin true"!?
I think you've got me wrong bud, wasn't "shooting him down" either, just trying to make one realize where they were headed was not in the direction of the original posts intent.
Blue guages have absolutely NOTHING to do with the topic at hand, regardless if the original poster wants them or not! I was attempting to help there, but he wasn't even talking about a supercharger anymore at that point, that's why I couldn't help myself but laugh. Can't you see that?

And yes, CrazyJesster, yes, the Magnacharger is probably one of the more popular and successful superchargers out there. Their older version, the Radix/MP122 is much more common, and probably easier to find in the used market. But the newer and updated TVS series, which you'll want to look at the smaller 1900, will have much better efficiency compared to the Radix.
And as far as buying used, that's all up to you! You have to be able to judge the condition and completeness of the package you are purchasing. Experience could either be bad or good, but it could potentially save you a lot of cash!
New TVS is not cheap.
