Gopapa's MPG Stats on the 06 Chevy Truck

I left home in Oregon (Feb 26 th )and got 17 to 18.7 MPG to California covering 1000 miles

I then went to Lubbock Tx covering another 1000 miles and got 16 to 20.1 MPG

I am North of Little Rock Ar ( Mar 17 th)and getting here I got up to 20.5 MPG

I got this at speeds on or between 65 to 75 mph ..

I have a 06 Silverado 1500 4/4 with just our luggage ..

5.3 327 engine /342 rear end ratio for anyone to compare ..

Next is on to Denver /and on to Elko NV and on home ( some time in Mar ?) to North of Portand Oregon .

cost of gas so far is around $550 and prices of gas range between 2.61 Lubbock Tx to 3.39 Simi Valley Ca. ....Malverne Ar is 2.64 ..

Will fill in more at end of Trip ..Not bad for a 4/4 is it ?

I figure our car would make the trip for about $200 less in gas ,,but to sit up high and ride so comfortable in a quiet cabin is worth it ..anyone else agree?

Hope all is having a great spring beginning .. Gopapa from on top Petit Jean Mountain here in Arkansas looking down on the Arkansas river..

I took the mileage from the odometer in the dash and devided the mileage by the gallons of gas used from tank to tank and each time I topped it off when possible .

I have a log of each fill up and gas prices ...

Cool. My dad has an 07 5.3l 4X4 with 3.73s. I've gotten 19.5 mpg at 60mph on the highway with about 700lbs in the bed. Got 18 at 70 dry.
