I have used shoe black in the past, the paste not the liquid.
Gives the tyres a dry shine that lasts expensive way to clean tyres though

Try Eco Touch It's the best that i've ever used and I'm not a big fan of tire dressing but going to shows you almost have to use it. take a look at their web site and read about their products, I've been using their stuff for about 3 yrs. and have been satisfied.

Optimum Opti-Bond tire gel is really good also!
Optimum makes really good stuff,and it's is pretty cheap considering the quntity and quality you get for the price. |

I have used Dawn dish soap 100% after the tires dry off and wipe them with a damp rag, and no they do not foam in the rain !!
