Re: How Many Have Soft Tops?

I installed the new softopper last weekend. Looks nice, but I cannot get the last top snapped secured on the back end. I've adjusted the rails and still can't get them to snap. Any suggestions?

I've received more compliments with te "safari" look with the sides rolled up. Other than the two snaps and one bad one-inch strap, I like the softtopper.

Re: How Many Have Soft Tops?

does anyone have a softopper on a 70 - 75 FULL convertible? Any reports on the watertightness of these?

I had same problem with my Soft Topper. This what I did:
Do this when it's cold. Early morning etc...
Let the rear straps loose and let the rear hoop loose as well.
Snap the two most rear ones and then put hoop back up and do the straps up as well to where it is pretty snug.
DO NOT pull on those straps too hard. They will break with not a lot of force. Found out that out the hard way
Now go park it in the sun.
After I did that, it still took me putting a hand on the rear hoop and pulling down as I snapped the rear ones. It does get easier but top needs to stretch for a few weeks.

Re: How Many Have Soft Tops?

I snapped in the front, fitted the back, lifted up the middle, strapped it to the back.
Straps are even a little lose, but I pull the back hoop down too.
At first it took two people, but now I know how hard, I can do it.
The sides and back roll up easier now too( softened up).

Looks great Ballyhoo. Seen any lions or rhinos while the sides were rolled up? I saw a lot of yak,but that's because I had a chatty passenger.
Mine was real tight back there,too...still is just not as bad. I pulled down on the hoop and also discovered working my way back with the snaps works better than doing the corner first.
