Moving alternator on a 350

I am looking to move the alternator from the right side to the left side. The problem I have is how to identify the proper bracket to mount the alternator to.., I have a long water pump with the power steering on the lower part of the motor on the left side. The P/O told me the 350 came from a mid 70s Camaro. I want to stay with the V-belt I now have and I need some advice on what GM part number or bone yard engine application to help find one. I am replacing the wire harness with a new one and the wire harness has the alternator on the left side. I realize that is where the AC would normally go, however I see a lot of photos with the alternator on the left side..... I have a photo of the engine and any ideas would help. Thanks

I think you will need the short water pump to make this work but not 100 percent sure

Re: Moving alternator on a 350

You will need to change to a short water pump and the short water pump pulleys. For the alternator brackets, I like to use the '69-'72 truck lower bracket that bolts to the front of the head and then the adjuster bracket. Your power steering bracket, pump and pulley is already correct for a short water pump. All trucks '55-'72 and cars '55-'68 originally came with short water pumps on both small blocks and big blocks.
