Re: 72 Cheyenne Super First Project

Thanks Geoff. I got the part where it connects to the trans but the part where the arm connects to the steering shaft confuses me. It looks like the end of the rod is broken off and Idk if it came like that or if mine is broken.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super First Project

Tiny bit of progress, got some parts from Summit and threw them on the truck. Also repainted the sun visors and headliner.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super First Project

Andrew, did you figure your shift rod issue out? I know some of the ones I've had looked odd where they were cut at the factory. Almost looks like they forced a shear to cut them fast or some thing.

Looking real clean! Are you going to sleeve the rest of your coolant/ heater hoses to match the vacuum and upper radiator hose?

Coming right along there Andrew....I can get ya a picture of my shift rod tonight buddy....might want to put some protection around that fuel line coming out of the filter to the pump just incase it rubs the frame...also, did ya think about painting that fuel line up to the carb to hide it??

I don't think so. That hose I used for the vacuum line and upper rad hose is really expensive. My dad had those pieces laying around his shop so he let me use them. The heater hose is gonna stay the original rubber for now.

Thanks Geoff, I would really appreciate those pictures if you can get me some. I already know how the trans end goes together, I just can't figure out the end that connects to the steering column. The fuel line before the filter is lacking a clamp about two feet down the frame rail because I didn't have a 90 drill that would fit in there. So once I get that clip on it should pull that line closer to the frame rail and it won't move. Also I might redo that fuel line to the carb with stainless. I don't really like how this one turned out so I'll probably be doing another one.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I landed a really good job with a race team this summer so I'm hoping to have it finished by my sister's wedding in August. I finish exams May 10th so I'll be home for the summer after that. Stay tuned

Does anyone know how many pounds a stock height spring is? Front and rear if possible?
