Method for white roof cab
What is the best procedure for painting cab when it is going to have white roof and upper door frames?
Would you apply white base, let flash, mask and apply other base color and clear all at once? Would you apply white base and clear it; scuff and mask it for other base color; then clear over everything? |

Re: Method for white roof cab
I would do the white first(less to tape)...then tape it off and spray the rest...then clear all at once

Thanks mongocanfly. That's what I was thinking but I have never taped on fresh base. Don't know how tricky that will be.

Re: Method for white roof cab
I would use an intercoat clear to protect your base before taping. There's just too much to risk if your tape adhesive decides to bleed into the base.

Re: Method for white roof cab
When removing the tape from new paint, don't pull directly away from the panel, peel the tape back over itself. Less chance for it to pull the paint off.
