School me on oil pans
Needing an oil pan for my BBC Mark IV. There are so many choices out there I'm not 100% sure on where to start.
This engine is a 489 with a forged eagle 4.25" stroker kit. So I know I need a pan that will clear that much stroke. I've put a lot of money into this engine and I don't want to skimp on the oil system. I've found a moroso oil pan kit on Jegs that seems like a decent setup, but for a few more bucks I can get one with a windage tray and a crank scraper. These kits come with everything needed for the oil system. I want a pan that will clear my stock crossmember on my 2wd. I just dont know how deep of a sump to get and how many quarts capacity pan to get. I've been shopping in the street/strip category. Any other info I need to provide just let me know. Thank you. |
