Re: New To Me 2001 Silverado

I am sure he is asking if the INJ A and INJ B fuses have power when the key is on. ::EDIT:: the under hood inj a and inj b fuses.

which made me think of something if they do have power with the key on, check the bottom of the under hood fuse panel and see if all the large plugs are tight and the 7mm bolt in each is snug.

Re: New To Me 2001 Silverado

Check for power at pin D directly at an ignition coil(at the 4 pin connector, not the 8 pin)(use a test light between the pin and the negative battery terminal)

Do you have power? If you do, check for ground at pin A(use a test light between between the pin and the positive battery terminal)

There is a ground that bolts to the engine block on the drivers side, about an inch above the oil pan. It is the ground for all 8 ignition coils. I've worked on 3 trucks that had the ground corroded inside that wire.

Re: New To Me 2001 Silverado

On the 4 pin connector at the coil from left to right does it go pin ABCD? Or is there another order for it?

I'm not sure, but the power wire should be pink.

That's good. Does the pin on the other side of the connector have ground?

Re: New To Me 2001 Silverado

Okay guys I've spent all day tracing wires in my engine harness. Every wire I checked between the coil packs and ECM had continuity so my thought was check wiring to the Crankshaft Position Sensor. It is 3 wire, 12 volt supply, triggering signal, and ground to ECM. I checked those wires and the only wire I could not get continuity out of is the 12 volt supply from the ECM. Can this be my whole problem? Will I be fine making a jumper wire from CKP sensor plug to the postive battery terminal to see if it starts without harming anything?

Re: New To Me 2001 Silverado

Well just a little update. I have been driving the truck and really enjoy it. But some of my parts are showing up and probably this weekend Ill be swapping these parts and getting a tune. Just incase anyone is wondering the headers are from Speed Engineering, seem to be very good quailty for the price. Also have my BTR truck cam kit and that will be going in as well. Also I am debating getting 243 heads and having them milled to get a smaller combustion chamber. But not sure yet at this point.
