Is a 6.2 deisel engine Any good?

ive been riding by a car lot near my house and admiring a sharp 91 burb and i finnally stopped to check it out.man its loaded and sharp to boot but i havent had alot of exp. with deisels except for driving humvv in the army.whats the lowdown on the 6.2 its strong points bad things ect.i like this truck but i dont want to jump on it to fast without knowing more its got 119,000 miles on it

that 6.2 is the same motor in the army hummers. They are very good engines with 119,000 miles it has lots of life left those old 6.2's will last well over 200,000 miles and if you take care of it, it last over 400,000. The olny thing about them is the injection pump might have a seal go out in it, but it cost around here in south texas about 300 dollars to rebuild the pump.

You might want to check for blow back, when the motor is running pull the dipstick if a oily mist is come out of the dipstick tube, if it has blow back stay away from it. It probably won't run much longer.

One more thing they get great fuel mileage. don't be suprized to get over 20 mpg out of it.

Dam that sucks, that same thing happend to a while back. But it was a 84 bronco, so it diddn't bother me much.
