K1500 Silverado Transmission swap
I have a 1990 K1500 Silverado with the Getreg 290 5 speed manual tansmission with the 5.7 V8. Does anyone know if the NV 3500 or NV 4500 transmission would be a direct bolt on replacement for the 290. After 237,000 miles it is ready to retire.

A guy might want to see what the trans length difference is between the Getrag and NV4500. It may be necessary to change the cross member location and modify the driveshaft lengths. Good luck with the swap.
