CPP Front Shock Bracket Install Help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys. Just picked up some CPP Front shock relocation brackets for my 70 C10. Running this because... bags.

Any one have pics of them installed that would be great.

I have seen an image that showed them sitting, not really installed, on top of the frame rail.

Do I just line up the mounting point for the shock directly above where the factory shock mount is?

Here is a pic of what they are.

I would line them up using the shock at ride height. That would give you the best place to start.

I assume they need to be in a place where the shock is as vertical as possible?

The angle of the lower mount will place the shock at the angle it has to be. Ride height places it in the position it will spend most its life. Bolt the new top mount on the top of the shock and slide it up on the frame. That will be the best spot for it.

I did mine with a second pair of hands so that we could make sure everything was inline.

I used a pair of vise grips to hold it in place.

I had to drill some holes and also notch my inner fenders for final install

It does. Thank you. Looks like I will for sure need a right angle drill. I can't tell but is that the driver side or passenger? I think it's passenger.

Shocks are to the rear of the arms, so that is the driver side.
