If you do have the closed knuckle front 44 you are better off ordering the front knuckle seals for a 1968 1970 jeep wagoneer...gladiator...ect i got mine from jc whitney..for my 69 K/20 front c/k 44 and these are the same parts...fit perfect

I know its wierd, but this way you can get them...and they were not that much anyway...it is still a dana44 no matter what it was in,unless a ford front then its reverse rotation high pinion.

Found them thanks again. Anything else on the knuckle I should get. I never took one apart, I only worked on 44's with ball joints 1975 up.

i picked up a book called the chevy owners bible, or something similar to that. I was the most info on a closed knuckle axle i had seen at the time.

Re: dana 44-5F closed knuckle front end

Is there a any difference in the dana 44 open knuckle front axles? My 72 k10 has the dana 44 with -5F in the lower right hand corner. My dads 72 k5 blazer has 44 in the lower right hand corner. Are they different?
