Blazer Rockers

Do Blazers have an inner rocker panel? Or does the rocker box do that job? My outer rockers are almost gone and I done see any remnants of and inner rocker. Just trying to get an idea of what I'm getting myself into. Oddly, my rocker boxes are in GREAT shape.

Re: Blazer Rockers

Yes on the inside of the curved outer rocker is a flat piece that makes a 90* angle with the floor. Search for rocker replacement images and you'll see plenty of images of the guts there.

Re: Blazer Rockers

Ok, thanks. I can see straight into the rocker boxes, so they are either missing or rotted out worse than the outer rockers. Anybody sell a THICKE rocker set than OEM or reproduction?

wow. That's a big deal. Are the clecos just to hold it or are you going to rivet it in?

Re: Blazer Rockers

I welded mine, that's how the factory did it.

Good luck, Rg

Here is a break away (rusted away actually) view of the blazer side from an old project of mine.

Re: Blazer Rockers

thanks for that. looks like I've got some work ahead (x2). I had thought about making an inner rocker out of something thicker to tie the rocker box and floor together, but it looks a bit more intricate than that.

Re: Blazer Rockers

The repro panel is a good one. For a Blazer application the rear of the panel will have to be slightly shortened. The panel was designed for a regular pickup cab, but works fine on a Blazer.

Thumbs up Re: Blazer Rockers

The fender, inner fender skirt, and door will need to be removed to see the firewall as seen in the supplied photo.

Re: Blazer Rockers

When I did the rust repair on that part of my blazer rebuild - I was given a free part to test the fitment with a new aftermarket piece - have a look here at my review. It wasn't that tough.

I'm pretty sure I won't need that part... fingers crossed!

Re: Blazer Rockers

Hows your B pillar? Also any rot in the floor pan?

If you have floor pan rot your subframe might also be gone.
