Post driveshafts part II

ok the crap continues, did manage to finally un jam the prop shafts from each other and i filed and filed on the ends of the splines of the front popr shaft until finally barely squeaked on the rear shaft over the front shaft splines, but was damend tighht and had to use block of 4x4 wood to pack splines together and make them slide, i really dont understand why they wont go together so bad,,,
but now the next problem i encountered after having to replace a snap ring because some freakin how one flew out while banging on shaft, the front prop shaft is too short, wont reach the output yoke on end of the 4 speed,,, sigh... now im toast.. anyone got a front prop shaft for 2wd 3/4 ton 4 speed V8 truck ? long or short bed, doesnt matter,
truck VIN has to begin with CE or CCE and be 68-72 only.

thanks

For some reason I can't get the Longhorn shaft to seperate either. Messed up my back tryin the other day. The old one would just slide apart...without even trying.

When I took mine apart the slip joint was frozen on it too, full of 32 years of crap. I had to take the joints all apart and put it in the press to get it apart. only took a few tons but was more than a hammer could do. I was afraid of beating one of the holes out of round, so I put in 2 old caps to keep from crushing the holes. I then scraped it out really good and literally bathed it with wd-40 while working it back and forth. works great now.
