Go a head and fully install that ifs and see if they hit or not.If they hit you can run shorter headers or you'll have to dent your headers for clearance. Some people will say don't do that it will cost you power but its been proven on engine masters on a dyno it won't hurt at all.

It's definitely going to hit I measured and the the stocks ones are 17 inches and the ones I'm installing are 20 inches. Do they bend im thinking of going to a muffler shop and seeing if they can bend them, if not I think m I'm going to have to go to shortys

The easiest and most sensible thing to do it what I do with every truck I bring home.......Remove the headers, Im sure they leak anyway, throw them in the scrap metal pile then re-do your exhaust with 2.5 manifolds after you install the clip.

All jokes aside (not really), pulling the exhaust is probably the way to go, the clip HAS to go where it is going to land. The exhaust is adjustable in many different ways. You can alter the headers, go with shorties or as mentioned, do manifolds.

Good luck though....its always frustrating when you encounter an unforeseen glitch.

All headers leak, but yes, the above statement is 100% accurate!.

weird, i've got a set of headers on a supercharged LS and they were torqued to spec when originally installed, have never been retorqued and don't leak. mine must be defective.

Depends on the headers... With the $100 cheapies it's a weekly maintenance job...

Maybe your motor mount is toast, saggy and what not causing you engine to lean and causing the interference. I'd pull the header and install the front end and then re-evaluate the other pieces of the puzzle that can be moved. I, like many others have installed headers and did not run into this problem. Also shock length wont have a thing to do with a arm placement, unless they are massively under or over sized not letting the suspension move.

So maybe if the engine sat a little higher it wouldn't hit or more towards the rear

I have those A arms on my 66 with no problems. I also did the caster mod that gave me another 1/2" of room. You can trim the washer to gain some more room. Pull your headers and do the swap (you can just swap the a arms). Then see where the headers hit and make a plan from there.
