Re: What wiring harness to use?

I have GM style updated harnesses, and they're not cheap (wiringharness.com and others). I think painless wants to sell you an expensive crimper but I think you can get one for less at an electronic supply store.
500 isn't a lot compared to factory style, which are more than double. The dash harness is >300...

Re: What wiring harness to use?

I know nothing about wiring and even ordering the harness for my 71 Jimmy scared me to death. So many choices and component parts, all of them foreign to me. I ended up buying a Painless harness through Summit which I think was around $500. Turns out it didn't have AC or taillight sub-harnesses on it which I had to purchase at additional cost, and the fuse block was larger than the original factory size which required firewall modification. That being said, the guys who put it in for me found that everything else was present and installed fine.

American Autowire, I have used them all and theirs is hands down the best. A little more expensive, but their kits are COMPLETE, and the quality is superior.

What if your planning on installing a LSX motor?

I'm looking at installing a LS2 into my 1970 2WD and need complete new wiring harness...
