Oil breather manifold for Vortec heads

I currently have some mid 70's heads on my 350. It has a RV cam and an edelbrock intake that I drilled for an oil breather tube. The PVC runs to the carb base.

I picked up some 062 heads to install but I want to keep the oil breather tube. Has anyone used a manifold that can bolt to Vortec heads and has a spot to drill in the breather tube?

The truck occasionally tows, mostly cruising.

Re: Oil breather manifold for Vortec heads

vortec intake is the same as the intake you removed other than mounting bolts and angles..
the valley part is no different..
once you get the vortec intake you'll most likely see you can drill the hole in the same spot.. but not knowing where you drilled the 1st one. I can't say 100% that I'm correct..
here is a photo of my edel performance vortec intake.. maybe it'll help

I'll check to see what the hole alignment looks like.

The bolts on the old heads are angled into the head. These look close to vertical. I'll need some sort of wedge with a hole or the bolt will only touch on one side.

Can you provide a measurement on the square tab for the bolts into the cylinder head?

I might be able to make a wedge out of this material. https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Holl...um+square+tube

Re: Oil breather manifold for Vortec heads

You need a vortec intake and it will be a direct fit. If the vortec heads you have are used heads check for cracks around the exhaust ports.

Do you have a picture of your current setup? That might help us answer your question in relation to the breather tube.
