Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

Ok, it's been some time since I last updated. The body is coming along, all the body work is done and now just needs to be block sanded.

After giving much though I ended up doing bags on the Chevelle. I got a great deal on a set of Ride Tech Shockwaves for $325 and with some left over parts from my 58 I was able to put it all together. Here's a few pics.

Thanks for the updates. We were almost getting tired of waiting. It's gonna look sweet. When are you going to post pics of the body? Do we get to see it before the color goes on?

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

I seen this 67 Chevelle for sale on e-bay and had to post a pic of it. This is very close to the color we are painting it.

Love that chassis... amazing work!

Will your Chevelle be at a similar height to the blue one pictured above?

Yes although it might be lower when all the air is out of the bags.

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

Very Nice Dave, hope things are going well with you. Daniel is still in Lemoore until Dec when he gets out of the NAVY and I am not sure what is plan is after that. He has a girl friend somewhere around you but I can't remember the name of the town she lives in. Good Luck with your new ride and if I ever make it out there again I will look you up.

Looks a little like Starburst blue ! When I see a 66 or 67 it brings back a lot of good old feelings ,I think I have to build another one for closure .

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

We finally got color on the firewall, but it's too dark. We now are looking at 2006 Corvette Le Mans blue or 2004 Chevy Silverado Arrival Blue. First pic is of the firewall, it look much lighter in the pic from the flash, it's much darker. The next pic is a 2006 LeMans Blue Corvette and the last is my Silverado I used to have. I think we will sleep on it.

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

I really like the Lemans blue. You might also look at the late 90's Dodge Viper blue. It seems like it was originally a 4 stage color, but can be mixed as base/clear. It's pretty similar to the Lemans blue, but a bit brighter.
