[QUOTE=Zoomin;6357452]She's getting paint and body and Laid Back Recreations. I'm on the verge of doing a heart transplant on the old girl. The old "while you're here you might as well as" is kicking in strong right now.

A 455 won't disappoint. Just bear in mind the price & availability of engine parts if you decide to buy another motor get one as close to complete as possible. timing cover brackets etc... Buick stuff is expensive if you can find it. Can't wait to see fresh paint

I've seen Kyle do this dozens of times now, but it still amazes me how much work he can knock out in such a short period of time. But then again, it might be due to the fact that my Camaro spent 3 years in paint jail.

Still, how many painters can take a week to go to the Grand Canyon and SEMA with the family and then have a car to this point already?

Dang that looks great Steve. I need to get Kyle to my shop for a few weeks. I would have mine painted and reassembled. Not sure how he works the magic?

From what I've observed, the magic is a result of the confluence of talent and hard work. If there was a shortcut, I'd be all over it.

I got to check out Ruth this evening. It's looking very good. I really like the idea of the original blue color too. This car is going to be super cool when complete.

Re: 66 Buick Skylark - Ruth

Here's a glimpse of how to do some metal repair...

Start with a basic, rotted trunk gutter...

Gather up a few tools and some scrap metal...

And mix in a dash in Kyle's talent and you get this a couple hours later...

Check this pic out of the trunk lid - this is how Glasurit looks after its shot, no sanding, and this is with the guide coat applied afterward. Crazy.

I'm looking forward to taking Ruth to your cabin and hoisting a few on that new deck of yours. You're making that look pretty easy.

Very nice work on the rust repair. That BASF stuff is as good as it gets (from what I've heard).

What's not to like about that? Mirror finish and black.... Sure glad you switched from the blue. It would have been nice blue but I think it will be over the top black! More pictures!!!

I sweated the switch from blue. The more time went on, the worse I got. I was undecided between the original blue and navy blue and black. Kyle and Sarah convinced me that black was the way to go. I'm anxious to see how well the blue interior goes with it.

I'm sure the blue interior will look good with the black paint. Nothing to sweat there.

Blue interior? Worst case, if it doesn't go, you can always change that, too.
