Well time to head down to the shop and put in a good day of work on project 68.
 Plan to start off cutting the next two wheel wells and getting it welded up and taking the bed back off and starting prep work on the sides and header panel today to prime them out.

Looking good Larry. I read awhile back your switching to a 700r4. I wish now I would've. Sucks cruising at 3100 Rpms.

3:73 27" tall tire. 3000 was around 62 I think. I used this web site
http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html Figured out I could go with a 700 and 3:08s and still have a lower first gear. But cruise 70 at 1800 |

^^ I'll chime in on this. My last truck had a nice lil 350, 700r4 (with Bow tie OD lockup & stock convertor),3.42 gear and 28" tall tire and the truck hated 65-70mph. It shifted in and out of OD. I changed the gear to 3.73 and it was perfect. 2100ish rpm at 70 and mpg went up to 18. Just my experience.
I will be using a 3.42 in the new truck though (468/700r4 & 28" tire will be happy with the lower rpm in OD). |

As long as that 700 holds up hahahaha. I found that pic I was looking for. This was real close to your build. Same tires in the rear. 400 sbc 4.10s turbo 350. Truck would hook and go. 7:90s 1/8 mile.

The wife said she wants to go to the truck shop and help me sand this afternoon, I normally do not go down on Sunday as that is our family day and I cook dinner on Sunday evenings but I may have to just take her up on this offer as it does not happen real often and of course I want to have that quality time with my wonderful wife

Just read through your build and i think you gave me a good kick in the butt!I busted arse on my truck for 2 years and now has been sitting idle 2 years .I see you have been at it awhile too. Your truck looks awesome some real nice crafting done on it.I think its time to get back to work! Thanks again i will be tagging along for inspiration.
