Re: 58 bed new

I doubt you'll find a complete new bed ready to go...you'll have to piece it together....that's what I did with my step bed...go to mar-k if your wanting step....and I think key parts makes the fleet bed side..
mar-k is top shelf but doesn't make fenders

Re: 58 bed new

Reproduction sheet metal is the LAST choice for me, but the bed, it does work out pretty well. I have had very VERY good business doings with LMC.

Re: 58 bed new

X3 on the MAR-K

I used their bed sides, rear cross sill and tailgate, IMHO they are very nice pieces. They also offer all the crossmembers, wood kits, bed strips, etc... you will need to assemble a new box. I believe they sell it all as a "kit".

Fenders and steps will have to be sourced used or as reproductions. Most guys say to find used OE stuff because the reproductions are lighter gauge and need work to be right. My personal experience with AMD fenders makes me think they are right.

outrageous pricing but oem metal will fit better and those fenders do look perfect

Re: 58 bed new

Very happy with my Mar-k box. Bought it through a local vendor in Canada, Scott's Super Trucks. Ordered bedsides without stake pockets.

I need to do the same.

My bed is now 15 year s old and saw some water damage one winter in storage.

What did you use to refinish the wood?

Re: 58 bed new

I took the wood out bought a belt sander from harbor freight. used a 120 grit belt and sanded down top and bottom and sides. Went with a 220 and stained the same as the sides gunstock and cleared in outdoor poly. So many bolts and new bolts. I also removed the rear tank and hitch. Iam relocating the tank back to the cab. Iam selling the rear tank its like new.
