Cowboys quarter back

I'm not a Cowboys fan but that ankle injury to Dak looked like it really had to hurt.

Re: Cowboys quarter back

Of course I swapped out mahomes for Dak last minute on my DraftKings teams. Cost me some min cashes. Other than that I am not all that concerned for the guy. He is making close to a million a week. And now he can make that while sitting on his couch. Pretty sure down deep he is loving life right about now.

Yeah, looked like it when they carted him off the field.

Re: Cowboys quarter back

I'm pretty sure Dak would prefer not to have been injured. I'm also pretty sure he didn't put himself at risk by making extra effort while thinking about the money. I do think he was trying to help his team win a game without regard to money at that moment.

Re: Cowboys quarter back

.
My first thoughts when it happened and the network broadcast the image of Dak's oddly twisted foot/ankle there with him holding and staring at it, I was thinking OK...dislocated for sure yes, but maybe not fractured? The foot will swing back down, around, up and make its way back... right? It's just a big boy professional ankle roll...

But alas no it seems the damage was much more massive than just a dislocated and twisted ankle. 4 to 6 months recovery after surgery to repair a compound fracture/dislocation...

If these reports are correct, his season is over. It is likely next season will be questionable as well at least with the Cowboys, depending on his recovery and post recovery performance.

Re: Cowboys quarter back

Watch the Red Skins QB Joe Theisman's video of his carrier ending fracture. It's way easy to see damage. Monday night football back before we had color!

Don't want any player to get that injured.

Just my .02

Keep on keepin on

Re: Cowboys quarter back

Yup, I saw the Theisman injury and it was brutal.
I don't know much about ankle injuries, but I had a back injury that I still feel 40 years later so I'm sure Dak would be happier if it never happened. When he comes back, no doubt his running will be limited.

WOW. Without really starting anything, all I can say is that is such a sad post. He is a human being, and an athlete of the highest caliper in his sport. You don't get to where he is by only caring about the money. I am sure, having been involved in sports most of my life, that he is not very happy sitting on his couch watching. He is a pro athlete that is more concerned about winning and his team I bet, but I don't know him. But, the bigger issue is, he is a human being that got hurt in a brutal way. Do I know him? Nope. Is his injury gonna make a bit of difference to me? Nope. But darn, that is a pretty callous thing to say. RR

My grandfather was a Redskins season ticket holder for 40+ years. He was there the night theisman’s career ended. His seats were close to the field, I remember him telling me that he heard the pop/crack when theisman got hit. Grandaddy said it was one of the more brutal things he had seen in football.
I’m Redskins fan born and raised, don’t watch football any more because of all the politics that’s worked it’s way in but I do feel for dak. That’s gonna take a while to heal and I’m sure it’ll never be completely right after it does heal.

It is real sad that Dak got his ancle badly broken ,,the odds of a QuarterBack getting hurt that bad these days with all the protecion they get from the new rules is pretty rare. I am one who likes the new rules do to the fact that if you lose your quarterback you can most often kiss the whole year goodbye as for getting to the Super Bowl

I too quit watching pro football for the same reasons you did. and I say this knowing I have a great grand son playing for Miami Dophins ,,

Theisman wasn't making a million dollars a week. Big difference.

Re: Cowboys quarter back

I should clarify. Dak gets about a million a week guaranteed. Theisman had to work at burger king in between seasons. Let's not try to compare the two

Re: Cowboys quarter back

Give me a break !
If you have never played competitive sports.
And you base your thinking on fantasy football

I can see why a person can believe an athlete At the highest caliper
Would rather get his money by being injured

But for the rest of us who live in reality
.
.
‘Not’

Giants fan here..

I'm ready to give on football too.

I remember the Theisman game. What stands out to me was LT's reaction, and he was the meanest SOB around.
