Re: Anyone on a diet?

I've been lax this month but since march ive lost 20 lbs. Mainly cutting out the junk and bread lots of protein and working out. I'm not very tall and got up to 185 which was sloppy weight for my frame. Back down to under 170 at about 10% bf. Lean as ive been since I was boxing. Good luck with everyone that is on a diet. It can be tough but changes don't happen overnight, stick with it.

Re: Anyone on a diet?

Prostate cancer? Yikes! I hope you won that battle before it was a "battle."

My new dumbbell weight set arrived today. I'm eager to put it to use since today is "shoulders and arms" day.

I am running out of room so I decided to make 45 pound dumbbells the cut off. Anything heavier will be of the adjustable dumbbells, the older design where you put plates on and then a big nut. That will really save me a lot of space but I'll have to design myself another dumbbell rack.....space is limited in my house.

I'm definitely getting stronger, slightly bigger, the belly is shirking, and I feel great. P90X works, period.

My 70 and 80 lb kettle bells are looking worn out . I'm 265 lbs and wouldn't even consider a diet . 45 lbs ? are you working out with your mom ?

Wow
I'm scared to wonder
What you would think about me😳
Look at my dumbells!
For some reason there is even toilet paper
In the flatbed glove box
I guess that was there, just in case any of my passengers
We're on a diet
That had some
Unwanted
Side effects

lol

I carried my new dumbbell set up into my "gym" last night, that brings me up to a grand total of 672 pounds of dumbbells. That should last me. Now to build the dumbbell racks so I can get this stuff organized when my gym goes back into service as a rental and my living room becomes my gym.

Re: Anyone on a diet?

It might be worth it. A woman with a body like that would motivate you in all kinds of ways.

Seriously though, we are mostly motivated by our friends and peers. If all your friends are fat then you'll be more likely satisfied being fat. If your friends are fit, you'll want to exercise and be fit. As a friend says, "it's hard to soar like an eagle if you are surrounded by turkeys."

I think it is largely what is going on in America, it's a self-supporting loop of bad health and inactivity. 66 percent of Americans are overweight and 33% are obese. Healthy people hardly even rate, their numbers are so small. Police departments must do the physical first, before the written exam, because so few people can pass the physical. I have heard the military is having the same problems.

At one time I considered hanging several posters of very fit and hot women around my house to keep me motivated. Carmen Electra was my "workout poster buddy" when in college and she was motivating come exercise time.

Re: Anyone on a diet?

Brings back memories!

She had some demented choices in who she dated but body-wise, hard to do better.

I used to use a Soloflex back then (2000 to 2003) but it worked pretty well for me and I still have it.
